I just did a dist-upgrade 2 days ago to kde 2.2.2 from unstable. Now whenever I invoke standby mode on my laptop (Toshiba Tecra 8200), I get a "sound server fatal error, cpu overload, aborting" error from artsd. This did not happen with the previous version. I upgraded many things so I thought I would ask here before filing a bug report. I'm running with kernel 2.4.16 (compiled by me, apm support compiled into kernel) alsa 0.9+0beta9-1+p0 (same) ii artsbuilder 2.2.2-3 Arts synthesizer designer ii libarts-alsa 2.2.2-4 aRts Sound system (built with alsa support) I was looking at /etc/apm/event.d/alsa, and in there if you are using esd it does a standby/resume on it before disabling the audio devices. Is there an equivalent for arts? with artsshell you can suspend, it a resume not needed? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks! -pete -- (peter.royal|osi)@pobox.com - http://pobox.com/~osi jabber/ osi@fotap.org - icq/ 153025 - aim/ osifx - yahoo/ osi_fx your brain on life - http://fotap.org - incubating
