Sorry, I mistyped :-)  That sentence should have read "I.e., when you updated 
to the latest qt2.3, do all qt apps need to be recompiled?".  My fault.....  
But it still stands, it still crashes as soon as I try to open anything, 
either a project or just an html file.  Weird.
