Wow how did you manage that?
almost 1M of bookmarks it is impressive
my bookmarks file is about 50K and it is running fine HOWEVER I guess that creating the menu entries in the bookmark
menu/toolbar in konqueror might not be optimized ! May be with big bookmark they should load folders on demand
and not all at once
for example that how it is done in the quick browser otherwise you end up with very slow interface !
may be you should try to redirect this to kde-bugs as a wish list or may be make a statement on kde mailing lists
like kde-devel or kde
it is not really related to debian-kde
