Re: gradle reboot -- 2024W47 update
Good evening,
Some news from this adventure:

There is currently a regression compared to two weeks ago as I'm
currently unable to get the build to start compiling the project, it
hangs in a configuration stage. Currently investigating why
I found out what triggered the issue, which was a combination of
incomplete dependencies fixes/removals that missed the missing sources
(still following?) newly imported (mostly testing code) and
--write-verification-metadata being prone to deadlocks after errors
happened in the configuration stage, which is probably worth a bug
report upstream if I manage to craft a less exotic reproducer. Not
getting any clue about what was wrong was frustrating to say the least,
I had to debug the thing with jdb to figure that out.
Now the build starts again, does not complain anymore about
libnative-platform-java after an updated package was installed, and
fails against another outdated lib, details are on the updated README
there [1]
I haven't received a lot of feedback (as in: none) from this list about
what is in my repos yet, but that's still very welcome and encouraged ;)
Next week I will start working on a detailed action plan and PoC for the
rebootstrap, in between build runs and fixups.
Have a nice week-end,
