Bug#508789: default-jre and default-jdk should be changed from gcj to openjdk on sparc
Package: default-jre
Version: 1.5-30
Severity: normal
On Debian/Sparc the default-jre and default-jdk point to gcj and its
toolchain. However, there are several issues with gcj which make it a
non-fully functional java environment.
The recently added openjdk-6 provides a much better java runtime.
Although there are still issues, it is currently the only real usable
java version for linux/sparc.
Therefore, please change the default links on sparc to use openjdk
instead of GCJ.
Thanks.
