Java and Ghostscript

Hi,
I'm having problems printing from Java in Debian Etch, getting blank
pages instead. Googling around I found the problem relies in Ghostscript
8.15.
Since the bug seems to have been fixed in version 8.5 (released more
then an year ago), my question is: is there any guess about when will
this version be included in Debian (etch, sid, experimental) ?
Is there any workaround (besides downgrading to sarge)?
Thanks,
carlos
