RE: SUN java

		AFAIK there's no debian-package of the official Sun
J2EE/J2SE, but that
		doesn't mean you can't install the rpm or the tar.gz
package.

A number of people have mentioned downloading the tar.gz package directly
from Sun.
I really want to be using J2SE 1.4 so I downloaded the so-called "Linux
GNUZIP Tar
Shell script" version and installed it. Unfortunately, when I try to run it
I get...

chuck@ahab1 100$ java -version
Error: failed /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.0/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so, because
libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

So basically, there seems to be a dependency on an old version of
libstdc++...
Maybe I'm pointed at the wrong pieces of the woody distribution but
I can't seem to find this old version...

	libstdc++3-dev - The GNU stdc++ library version 3 (development
files)
	libstdc++3-doc - The GNU stdc++ library version 3 (documentation
files)
	xbase-clients - miscellaneous X clients

Any hints for making this work?
