Potrebbe essere la causa del mancato aggiornamento.
da quello che capisco, il sistema si lamenta perchè lo script è privo di 
LSB.
Se guardi  tra gli script di avvio (/etc/init.d) per esempio "cron"
trovi all'inizio:

# Required-Stop:     $remote_fs $syslog $time
