Problemi con Wacom Bamboo pen&touch.

Ieri mi è arrivata la tavoletta grafica in oggetto (consegna in 3 giorni
lavorativi, come promesso, precisi sti tedeschi).
Naturalmente l'ho immediatamente connessa alla mia debian-box, ma niente da
fare... non fa assoluamente nulla...
mi ricordo che in passato avevo provato altre tavolette della wacom e senza
fare assolutamente nulla, venivano viste come dei mouse.
Per essere sicuro che funzionasse sono andato a cercarmi una macchina winzoz,
e su questa ha funzionato alla grande.
Ho provato la tavoletta su tre macchine debian, una stable/32bit, una
testing/64bit e una sid/32bit... il risultato il medesimo per tutte le
macchine.
alla connesione udev fornisce i seguenti dati (sulla sid/32 kernel 2.6.32, che
è questa macchina):

in pratica non viene caricato nessun driver per questa periferica, mi viene
quasi il sospetto che il problema potrebbe essere udev, mancando una rules che
identifichi questa periferica.
(AGGIORNAMENTO: ho messo un 60-wacom.rules come è descritto nell'howto di
linuxwacom, http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/newwacom
ma come faccio a sapere se devo mettere un rules per
60-wacom.rules on systems using ATTRS o
60-wacom.rules on systems using SYSFS ?
)
Ho provato anche con modconf, ma non saprei quale modulo attivare (sotto
usb/input non ho trovato nulla di adeguato, neppure un driver generico, esiste
un modulo wacom, ma non funziona)
ho provato anche a guardare il progetto linuxwacom, che dice di supportare
questa tavoletta, ma già nei primi passi, quando dice di verificare la presenza
del device, nel mio caso rimane completamente muto. ho provato questi passi:
cat /proc/bus/input/devices >device1

diff device1 device2
ma non vi è alcuna differenza tra prima e dopo l'inserimento della tavoletta.
come si può vedere dal dmsg non viene dato nessun device alla tavoletta...
ho provato a scaricare i sorgenti d linuxwacom, scompattati, ho dato il
comando .configure, ma non riesco poi a compilare... non viene generato il make

evidentemente manca qualcosa, ma non riesco a capire cosa non ho caricato, gli
header sono caricati. Ora sto provando a caricare i sorgenti completi del
kernel, ma non dovrebbe essere necessario.
Spero di essere riuscito a dare abbastanza informazioni e qualcuno riesca a
darmi una mano, è molto carina questa tavoletta, e mi spiacerebbe non essere
in grado di usarla anche perché non ho macchine winzoz a disposizione, e men
che meno da dare in mano a mia figlia di 4 anni).
