exim and debian: incompatibilities
Tonite i got this message in exim log:
2008-02-14 00:08:28 1JPPKV-0001oF-Bx == debian-italian@lists.debian.org
R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp defer (-44): SMTP error from remote mail server
after RCPT TO:<debian-italian@lists.debian.org>: host liszt.debian.org
[82.195.75.100]: 450 4.1.7 <leo@tempo.dicea.unifi.it>: Sender address
rejected: unverified address: connect to tempo.dicea.unifi.it[150.217.9.24]:
Connection timed out
It is repeated. I have to add a note: tempo is a portable, that usually is
connected to a fixed address, but that can also use other addresses if for
some reason is out of office. messages usually are not sent outside, only
today i tried to send one since it contained an error message.
but the problem is: at the time of sending the host used another address,
and not his "original" one, so it cannot reply to probes.
Should not a server refuse messages based only on failed probes due the
remote server is off ?
