[semi-OT] Navigatore satellitare vs Debian (consigli)

Buonasera a tutte/i,

in previsione dell'acquisto di un navigatore satellitare, mi chiedevo a 
che livello di compatibilità con la nostra inseparabile Debian sono le 
varie marche più blasonate (es. TomTom, Magellan, etc...): cosa si può 
fare e cosa no, anche perché - per essere pratici, oltre che 
spudoratamente a favore del free software - nell'unico windows ancora 
nella mia vita (al lavoro) non posseggo i diritti di amministratore!

Attualmente sarei orientato verso il TomTom 920T, ma vorrei prima 
raccogliere da voi qualche dritta/esperienza...
