Hmm, indeed.  I tried it inside the corporate lan here before I sent the
email, and it seemed to work.   I retried it now over the AS border, and it
doesn't do nearly as good a job...

So, it is not PMTU, nor it is weird routing issues.  And 59 isn't too
diferent from what I get to various destinations in the Internet, now that I
tested tracepath against internet targets.
