and etcetera. If I may ask, where did you find these wonderful
descriptions? In the kernel sources? I found those variables, but I
didn't want to mess with them because I didn't know where
descriptions such as you posted were to be found.

I don't even know what package the "ip" command is in. I use ifconfig
because it's the only thing installed as far as I can tell.
