Bug#1040615: ibus: Misplaced candidate window in gtk4 apps
Package: ibus
Version: 1.5.27-5
Severity: important
Control: forwarded -1 https://github.com/ibus/ibus/issues/2522
When using an IBus input method in gtk4 applications such as nautilus or
gnome-text-editor, the candidate window does not show up right below the
cursor as expected, but rather a bit random.
The issue was originally reported upstream against Debian 12, and I have
confirmed it in Debian testing. I also see the issue in Ubuntu 22.04
with ibus 1.5.26 and Ubuntu 23.04 with ibus 1.5.28. The upstream issue
focuses on ibus-libpinyin, but the problem is present with e.g.
ibus-mozc and ibus-anthy as well.
In all those cases the issue is only present in x11 sessions, while it
works as expected in Wayland. However, in Ubuntu's development version
the issue is present in both x11 and Wayland.
