Re: Please review: Debian 31st Anniversary post for bits

Hi,

This year here in Brazil we put in practice something Jonathan had been talking for a long time: Debian can help local communities with reimbursaments to pay things like cakes, pizzas, flyers, banners and and so on.

Some while ago We had a call for "Debian Day organizers in Brazil", they sent me their budget and Andreas approved the ammount for these cities. Because most of them are not DDs/DMs, we believe would be easier we (Debian Brazil) centralize the requests and ask for them.

= very few in europe or the US (which is not a problem, but doesnt exactly suggest wide project buy-in)

Maybe this reflect the fact we haven't been hosting DebConfs in US and Western Europe for a long time. If the local communities organize small events/meetings such as Debian Day and Releasy Parties, they would grow to MiniDebConfs and DebConfs there?

I suggest next year we publish a call for Debian Day organizers (and for Release Parties) at least 2 months before. And keep remembering people they can organizer their events/meetings.

Maybe we can establish a goal: In 20245 we would like to have at least "n" cities celebrating Debian Day around the world.

= number 18 has not managed to complete the template so it appears as {country}: {City}

You can help to fix that editing the wiki for them.

= people have not even managed to put the events so all the "brazil" ones are together

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean here.

Best regards,
