1. I would guess they're stored in /etc/default/locale.

2. This is a mainly German speaking mailing list.

3. Wir befassen uns hier hauptsaechlich mit der Uebersetzung von Debian
   in Deutsche.

4. Hmm, ich seh grad, in Stretch scheinen die auf locale bezogenen
   Handbuchseiten noch nicht uebersetzt zu sein.
