Can someone send me one of the files *generated* *AND* an output file
as it should be (even if it is a bit older).

And here you can find correct version for wheezy: https://www.debian.org/releases/wheezy/amd64/release-notes.en.pdf

Because you can use email, I hope that you can download them. Otherwise, I can send them to you privately, mailing list do not accept such attachments. 

ANother safe option is sending to
        debian-tex-maint@lists.debian.org
