Did you happen to have diacritics characters (non-ASCII) in you alias?
When I tried to register some time ago, DDTSS complained about my real name
being too short. When I changed "ł" with "l" (lowercase L), everything went
fine.
I think that it was reported here on the list some time ago; don't know if
anyone did anything with that.
