But it is the list of packages included, and as Hauke said, the main
aim is to allow people to easily search for a CTAN packages.

Often people will get the hint: Install the LaTeX package foobar.
Now, how to find out where it is contained? Now it is an easy apt-cache
call. Otherwise there is no way.

What do you consider "decent"?

I consider useful as decent.
