This should really be LAYOUT => 'gb', with XKBMODEL => 'pc105'
recommended.

ga_IE@euro => { LAYOUT => 'gb', XKBOPTIONS => '', XKBMODEL => 'pc105' },

Similarly for Britain, including minority languages:
