Thanks! That worked for me. It would be a good idea to merge that
patch and push the result into Trixie.
I can now reboot and log into that as root.
Getting a console required installing 'keyboard-configuration'
otherwise I was stuck with the US keyboard.
'ifupdown' also had to be installed and configured by hand. Once I
got that, I was good to go.
One question:
Is there still a limit on the amount of swap Mach/Hurd can manage?
