Yes, only to have to put it back once we have samba working, and the
same for various packages depending on samba (xmms, mplayer, vlc,
etc.). Again, I see that as unnecessary work from both Hurd porters and
package maintainers.

I guess here the situation is just stuck on finishing the record lock
then.
