Do you really have the patch
debian/patches/hurd-i386/libpthread_spin-lock.diff
applied?  It ships the
libpthread/sysdeps/mach/i386/bits/spin-lock-inline.h
file, which overrides libpthread/sysdeps/mach/bits/spin-lock.h
