Another problem is performance wrt. disc access. Hurd feels slow, and my hdd is rattling all the time when I do something in Hurd. top always reports ext2fs as main cpu user and often gives ext2fs cpu usage at up to 50%, even for tasks that tend to be CPU bound when run on the host system (e.g. compiling something, ext2fs is at the top, and the compiler itself is further down the list as is make).
