Re: Shouldn't we use partition type 63 (GNU HURD)?

Wasn't the intention that the GNU partition type number be reserved for a future hurdish file system? What is the partition type number for, would that mean existing tools will refuse to work with it?

Hello,

IIRC, the currently recommended way is to use partition type 83 (Linux)
just because the old debian installer only recognizes those.  Is there
any other reason which prevents us from using type 63 in the Debian
installer?
