Initial Comment:
This is based on the ideas of Michael Banck's patch #310931, ie making use of program_invocation_name:
- if absolute, just resolve it
- if relative, append it to the current working dir, and then resolve it
The custom addition is added in an own Hurd-only code block, as it has little in common with the block which would be used (querying /proc).

The upload of imagemagick 6.5.7.7-1 brought a version compiling again on GNU/Hurd, so closing.
