Debian GNU/Hurd CD's
1st boot yields;

Start /hurd/ext2fs.static: Hurd server bootstrap: ext2fs.static [device:hd1s1]

exec init proc auth/libexec/console-run: /dev/console: No such file or directory


/libexec/console-run: /tmp/console: Read-only filesystem

/libexec/console-run: /hurd/term: Read-only filesystem

/libexec/console-run: Using temporary console /tmp

/libexec/runsystem: Running on fallback console /tmp

sh-3.1#export TERM=mach

sh-3.1#./native-install....

....

....

Settingup libc0.3 (2.3.6.ds1-8)...

dpkg: --compar-versions takes three arguments: <version> <relation> <version>


Type dpkg --help for help about installing and deinstalling packages [*];

Use `dselect' or `aptitude' for user-friendly package management;

Type dpkg -Dhelp for a list of dpkg debug flag values;

Type dpkg --force-help for a list of forcing options;

Type dpkg-deb --help for help about manipulating *.deb files;

Type dpkg --license for copyright license and lack of warranty (GNU GPL) [*].


Options marked [*] produce a lot of output - pipe it through `less' or `more' !

/sbin/invoke-rc.d: line 274: /sbin/runlevel: No such file or directory


Freezes, have to Hard Boot.


2nd boot


Filesystem Read only: Filesystem not unmounted cleanly; Please fsck

Fair enough, took a bit of time to re try the three methods.  I had thought that I had reached the same ending point, but I couldna reproduce said results.  So I shall post three follow-up replyes with what each method yielded, Crosshurd-via Debian GNU/Linux-Sid, Debian GNU/Hurd CD's & GNU-Hurd.tar-ball.
