Short answer, they approximate to the Debian GNU/Linux woody installation
CDs.

Pros.  Various packages have been included in addition to those in the
Debian archive and alpha.gnu.org to meet dependencies.  No other os is
needed to make an installation.  It is hassle free.

Con.  apt-cdrom does not work.
