Yours were quite similar, but you found many minor problems i didn't watch.
i'll merge your patch when i get some time (probly next weekend)

debootstrap has a few scripts that represent a debian branch each, there
was a "woody" script but the "sid" one we want was just a simlink to "woody".
with the actual fixes, the sid target is a fixed copy of the woody one.
