boot problems

I was wondering if anyone here could help me,

When I start the gnu hurd I get:

"hd02: bad access: block=28, count=2, blockend=30, sector 28 end_request:
I/O error, dev 03:02, sector 28"


I'm using a 2gb hard drive under VMware and I have 1 gb for Linux, 128 mg
for Linux swap and 500 Meg for the Hurd which is Linux formatted.
Comments?
