If it worked with 128mb, and not with 1gb, and that's the only change you
did, then it sounds like it.  Nobody tested with so much ram yet, I think.
(But feel free to ask my for my postal addr to send the ram to :)

Can you do some kernel debugging to check where it fails?  printk() is your
friend...
