The Debian build machanics work less reliable in a cross-build environment (think: automatic library dependencies, etc), so AFAIK it is only used for packages that have few dependencies, and are a bear to build natively (e.g. libc). An alternative that definitely involve some fiddling is to try if plex86 <URL:http://www.plex86.org/> is up to the task. It can reportedly boot the Hurd, and if it already has networking support, you could offer access to a virtual Hurd box. -- Robbe
