Hmmm... If you still have it running, can you check the following:

(You can do this from Linux)

jbailey@oasis:/mnt/hurd/bin$ md5sum ae
a5f9d9dd564881943ceef3a03d8eda33  ae

jbailey@oasis:/mnt/hurd/bin$ objdump -p ae
(Some stuff removed)
Dynamic Section:
  NEEDED      libslang.so
  NEEDED      libc.so.0.2

jbailey@oasis:/mnt/hurd/lib$ md5sum libslang.so.1.4.4
1ebab7c21925e2492c49cd0fb0ee8ce0  libslang.so.1.4.4

jbailey@oasis:/mnt/hurd/lib$ ls -al libslang*
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root       571434 Mar 24 13:50 libslang.a
lrwxr-xr-x    1 root     root           22 Mar 25 23:09 libslang.so -> /lib/libslang.so.1.4.4
lrwxr-xr-x    1 root     root           17 Mar 25 23:09 libslang.so.1 -> libslang.so.1.4.4
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root       348516 Mar 24 13:50 libslang.so.1.4.4
jbailey@oasis:/mnt/hurd/lib$
