I cut & pasted those entries into a new sources.list, apt-get update'ed,
and I still get:

E: Package gcc-2.95 has no installation candidate
...
E: Package g++-2.95 has no installation candidate
...
E: Package cpp-2.95 has no installation candidate


umm... eek!
