In general people should set translators with `settrans -pa' so that you
see a failure to start up the translator (e.g. because of bad parameters
like this case) right away.  Whenever you have a translator problem, the
first thing to do is:
	settrans -a foo `showtrans foo`
to see that the translator starts up properly.
