Hurd swapping

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

hello all out there,

I have installed hurd from a CD packed into the german magazine
freeX. I played around a little bit with it and tried to establish the
network, which seemed to run well (I could telnet my Linux-Machine).

But at a certain time I recognized a lot of disk activity (I think the
machine began to swap), the console became slow and finally I got
messages about page faults. Fortunately I was able to shutdown the
machine regularly but something goes wrong I think. But what? (Does
someone know anything more about that distrution on the freeX-CD?)

The machine:

Pentium 100 with 48 MByte RAM,
Hurd on a 250 MByte partition on the first IDE-disk,
40 MByte Swap on the 4th partition of the same disk (also used for
Linux onthe same machine)

Thank you for any hint,
