Glad I built the trimmed gnumach.  After booting the original one again,
the NIC didn't work again.  Booted the trimmed kernel again, it did.
Apparently there's also a driver conflict in the distributed version.
I'll see if I can track it down one of these days but the priority has
gone waaay down.
