The standard response (is it a FAQ yet?) is "use tomsrtbt, at
http://www.toms.net";. I've used it to install Hurd on a machine in the past
(although Hurd didn't actually work on that machine due to missing FPU
emulation---it's why I joined the list in the first place!).
