Yes, a seperate Hurd version is not strictly needed, but we don't have this
fine graduation in the archive (yet?).

This will work:

dd if=/boot/mbr.b of=$disk bs=444 count=1

I think so. The autobuilder will catch this when I have prepared it (sorry
for the horrible delay with this beast).
