This is really a good horror story... I will try not to dreamof it.

The full error message would be nice, but don't worry if you forgot it. I
can always try myself.

Try to delete /etc/ld.so.preload. If that is not the culprit, I don't know.

*laugh*  I build this package, it's part of liblockfile or so. better not
install it, it shouldn't be necessary anyway. I was not aware that it may be
harmful.
