An important nit is that the A180 firmware only supports booting from
the built-in Lasi SCSI.  Most other PA-RISC systems support booting
from LSI 53c8xx PCI adapters (never tried 53c1010).

I use a drive hooked up to the lasi700 controller for palo.  Debian is
installed on a drive hanging off an LSI 53c895 controller.
