debian-31r0a-hppa-binary-1.iso B2600 Kernel panic: High PrioritMachine Check (HPMC)

Hi,

Downloaded the
debian-31r0a-hppa-binary-1.iso   checksumed ok.

Installing on an HP b2600.

Seemed to install just fine, to the point where it
reboots the machine.

Seems to start with a pretty healthy boot up.

The last thing it seems to do is check the CDROM the
green light comes on for a second and then I am left
with this screen full of information.

Any ideas, things to try, explanations etc. etc.
greatly appreciated.
