Octave 2.1 is segfaulting on hppa

Octave 2.1 is segfaulting on hppa, and this can be seen in the "octave
tests" part of the buildd log for version 2.1.48-1:

(look for "segmentation fault" there)

Could a nice soul with debugging capabilities on a hppa Debian box try to
understand what is going on?  We need more information about the problem in
order to send a bug report upstream.
