accessing floppy drive

hi,

I'm the guy suggested to use vi as an editor. I hope this make you see my background.
I have another problem. As root, I tried to
   #mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /floppy
as I normally do in x86 machine, but failed. The message say
/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device
Is my floppy drive dead? I checked the cable and seems everything is in place. I
   #vi /etc/fstab
(see, I use vi --but only to write configuration files) reads
   /dev/fd0 /floppy auto user, noauto 0 0

A newbie is needing this forum ... again ...

thanks to all,

yus
