Bug#1107332: slurm-client: Dependency on munge should be optional
Package: slurm-client
Version: 24.11.3-2
Severity: minor
Hi,
slurm now supports using auth/slurm as AuthType, which doesn't require
munge anymore and also allows using sackd on nodes which shouldn't run
slurmd, but get auth information or even the configuration when using
configless slurm. Installing munge in these setups is not needed, I
suggest downgrading munge to a recommends, so people can choose to not
install it, but it will still be installed by default, since it's also
still the default AuthType in slurm.
Best,
Cornelius
