Bug#949734: slurmdbd does not start, error in /usr/share/doc/slurmdbd/examples/slurmdbd.conf.simple.gz
Package: slurmdbd
Version: 18.08.5.2-1+deb10u1
Severity: minor
With a slurmdbd.conf based on
/usr/share/doc/slurmdbd/examples/slurmdbd.conf.simple.gz the slurmdbd
service will not start
/var/log/slurm-llnl/slurmdbd.log:
error: Unable to open pidfile '/run/slurm-llnl/slurmdbd.pid': No such
file or directory
In the configuration file the value for PidFile is set to
/run/slurm-llnl/slurmdbd.pid, which does not match the entry in
/lib/systemd/system/slurmdbd.service (PIDFile=/run/slurmdbd.pid).
To fix this you have to change the PidFile value under
# WARNING!
# If you are running slurmdbd on Debian or derived system please leave
# the above values untouched
:)
I am using Debian GNU/Linux 10 with kernel 4.19.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian
4.19.67-2+deb10u2 (2019-11-11) x86_64 GNU/Linux
