Ah, very good.  For x11-common, unstable has 1:7.3+10, testing has
1:7.2-5 which dates to last June.  The xorg-server-core package is much
newer (less than a month).  I'll wait a bit and see if things change, or
maybe just upgrade to unstable...  Thanks for the info.

Any ideas on the funny icons or white screen blank?
