Re: gnome-volume-manager and kernel 2.6.11

Just for the sake of completness I describe shortly the solution I've
chosen.

I guess it isn't that easy for the maintainer to keep track with the
fast development of gamin. The current version in unstable is 0.0.21,
which was released upstream at the end of january, but it is already
somehow outdated as the newest upstream version is 0.0.26 (released
today) ;-)

I first turned off inotify, using the grub option noinotify. Like this
the newly mounted icon appeared again on my desktop. However after
hibernating and restarting, a newly automounted device wouldn't appear
on the desktop. I guess this is another issue with gamin. So I decided
to remove gamin and install fam again, like this it even works after
hibernating (I didn't remove the noinotify option).

Thanks a lot for your help Sjoerd
