Just to notify bug #294562 that affects other than debian also warty and hoary. Some recent post about this topic are on debian-x mailing list. I also cc this notification to debian-gtk-gnome ml. I think that this bugs put, in many uses case, the pc in an unusable status for a newbie after hardware change. Probably the solution must involve also the xfree/x.org package. Cheers, Blue
