libglade2 RC Bug#290811, upstream not responding

Hi!

I would have preferred dealing with this in consensus with upstream,
but as upstream is not responding, I'm asking here for advice.

The issue Bug#290811 raises it that libglade2 effectivly breaks ABI in
2.4.1 without bumping the SONAME (note that this is a behavioural ABI
break, the API stays the same). The corresponding GNOME bug is [0]. I
have also posted to the GTK+ development list, trying to draw
attention to the issue, without much success [1]. Normally I would
simply revert the offending change in libglade2, but there is a twist:
applications broken by 2.4.1 have been patched in *sid* to work with
2.4.1, however, these working-with-2.4.1 versions are not destined for
Sarge, so when I revert the offending change in the next upload, this
will fix the apps in Sarge, but in turn break the Sid ones. Any idea
how to best deal with this situation?
